Tral : Dr. Harbaksh Singh, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) backed Independent candidate, held a press conference in Tral on Thursday, where he vehemently demanded the immediate release of AIP founder Er. Rashid.
Er. Rashid, a Member of Parliament, has been under detention for around five years. Dr. Singh emphasized that he has the mandate of the people, having been elected by them. He expressed confidence in AIP’s prospects in South Kashmir, citing the overwhelming support for Abrar Rashid, Er. Rashid’s son, who has been campaigning for the party. Dr. Harbaksh Singh highlighted the party’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people and working towards their welfare. He appealed Jamaat Islami members to support AIP in the upcoming assembly elections, and acknowledged the party’s understanding of their pain and struggles. Dr. Singh also praised the supportive nature of Muslims in Tral towards minority communities, and sought their support in winning the election.
