J&K Assembly Polls: Police Observer Pulwama conducts extensive visit to Pampore, Tral Constituencies
Pulwama: Akhilesh Kumar, the Police Observer for Pulwama, conducted an extensive visit Wednesday to the Pampore and Tral Assembly Constituencies to review the security arrangements and ensure the preparedness of various polling stations and related facilities ahead of the upcoming elections.
During the visit, the Police Observer inspected several polling booths across both constituencies, assessing their readiness and the security measures in place. He met with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Pampore to discuss and review the comprehensive security strategies for the election period, ensuring all plans are in line with the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The Police Observer also visited the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in Pampore to evaluate the security of the strong room which will play a crucial role in the safe custody of election materials. He emphasized the importance of maintaining stringent security protocols at this vital location.
In his efforts to engage with the community, Kumar interacted with local voters, assuring them of the administration’s commitment to conducting free, fair and peaceful elections. He also conducted checks on the Static Surveillance Teams (SST), Flying Squads Teams (FST) and inter-district nakas to ensure their operational readiness.
The Observer’s visit reflects the ongoing commitment to a secure and transparent electoral process in Pulwama with all necessary measures being put in place to uphold the integrity of the elections.

J&K Assembly Polls: General, Police observers assess election preparedness in Reasi

They were welcomed by District Election Officer VisheshMahajan and SSP GauravSikarwar here at Katra where they convened an introductory meeting with DEO, SSP, ROs of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Reasi and Gulabgarh (ST) constituencies.
The DEO briefed observers about steps taken by the District Election Authority to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process as per ECI guidelines.
The Observers reviewed the functioning of the Flying Squad Teams (FSTs), Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), and other enforcement units deployed at different locations within the constituencies. During their visit, they closely examined the security arrangements and operational efficiency of the FST and SST tea The Observers interacted with team members, providing essential guidance to ensure proper monitoring of all activities for a smooth election process.
They assessed the polling arrangements and enquired about the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities, with a particular focus on the convenience of elderly voters, women and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Instructions were issued to the concerned officers to address any deficiencies and ensure a voter-friendly environment.
The Observers were accompanied by DEO, SSP and Nodal Officer MCMC KulbhushanKhajuria and other officials throughout the meeting.

J&K Assembly Polls: DEO, SSP co inspect polling stations, FST & SST in Assembly Constituency Nowshera
Rajouri:: In preparation for the forthcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) , Randeep Kumar conducted a comprehensive joint inspection of several polling stations in Assembly Constituency Nowshera, here on Wednesday.
The visit was aimed at ensuring the readiness of the polling stations and the security arrangements ahead of the elections.
The DEO inspected the polling station at SeharMakri and assessed the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) including ramps for differently-abled voters, drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and adequate lighting. Special attention was given to the security arrangements, with the DEO and SSP emphasizing the need for a secure and conducive environment for voters on Election Day.
In light of the area’s proximity to the Line of Control (LoC), the DEp and SSP also inspected nearby bunkers, identified for use in case of any shelling incidents during the election period. They reviewed the contingency plans and directed the local administration to ensure that all necessary measures are in place to protect the safety of the voters.
The DEO and SSP also conducted a surprise check of the Flying Squads (FST) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST) deployed in the constituency. The checks were aimed at ensuring that the teams are vigilant and fully prepared to monitor the election process and enforce the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Accompanying the DEO and SSP during the inspection were ADC Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon, TehsildarNowshera, and SDPO Nowshera. The officials collectively discussed the specific requirements of the constituency and the steps needed to address any potential challenges on Election Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO emphasized the importance of coordination between various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections. He instructed the officials to remain alert and responsive to any issues that may arise during the election process.
SSP reiterated the commitment of the police to providing a secure environment for the elections. He assured that all necessary security measures are being taken to prevent any untoward incidents and to maintain law and order during the polling period.
