Jammu: In a breakthrough under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu Police arrested a drug peddler, Ashwani Sharma, and seized 251 capsules of PROXYCO SPAS-like substance from his possession in the Nagrota area of Jammu District.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said “a police team of Police Station Nagrota, led by SHO Nagrota, apprehended Sharma near Khanpur Ward No.1 and lane No 1, following diligent efforts. A case, FIR No.238/2024, has been registered under the NDPS Act, marking a crucial step towards curbing the drug trade in the area”. Appealing people to remain vigilant against the scourge of drugs and report any suspicious activities promptly, Police in its statement said that the accused, Ashwani Sharma, is a resident of Khanpur ward No. and Lane No.1, Tehsil Nagrota, and District Jammu. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said “the seized capsules are believed to be a PROXYCO SPAS-like substance, a controlled medication. Further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of the drug peddling network.”
