Jammu: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu hosted an enlightening session on mental health awareness led by Dr. PiyaliArora, a distinguished Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor in Psychology at the Government Degree College, Udhampur. The event took place on 30th August 2024, at Mandapam auditorium at the Jagti campus.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IIM Jammu, Dr. PiyaliArora, who holds an M.Phil and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi, and is a certified Clinical Psychologist under the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), delivered an insightful talk that raised awareness about mental health challenges. She discussed practical strategies for addressing these challenges, with a particular focus on the student community.
Before her address, Dr. Piyali Arora, conducted personalized one-to-one counselling sessions for a select group of students, providing them with individualized support and guidance. Students had the opportunity to engage directly with Dr. PiyaliArora, addressing their specific concerns in a confidential setting. The session provided students with a deeper understanding of mental health issues and allowed them to seek personalized guidance from a highly experienced professional. IIM Jammu encouraged all students to take full advantage of the resources made available to them through this initiative. Present on the occasion were Dr. MamtaTripathi, Chairperson, Anandam, IIM Jammu, along with faculty, officers, staff and students of IIM Jammu. The event was organized and coordinated by Team Anandam, IIM Jammu.
The session concluded with a deep sense of awareness and empowerment among the students, who gained valuable insights into managing their mental health.
