Srinagar : Police on Friday has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established near Govt. Degree College Boniyar intercepted two suspects identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat S/.o Habibullah R/o Bagna Salamabad and Mubashir Ahmad Khan S/o Atta Mohammad Khan R/o Girdnawah Nowshera and during search recovered 48 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar where they remain in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Boniyar besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reiterated its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
