Ramban : The first phase of randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) for General Election Legislative Assembly, 2024 was done here on Thursday under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Ramban, Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary in presence of representatives of political parties and senior officials.
The first phase of randomization was done for allocation of Ballot Units, Control Units and VVPATs to two assembly segments of the district.
256 EVMs along with CU and BU and 256 VVPATs were allocated to AC-54 (Ramban), similarly 291 EVMs along with BU and CU and 291 VVPATs for AC-55 (Banihal) were allocated for smooth conduct of the polling.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO Ramban said that the aim of randomization is to ensure free and fair elections with no human intervention as the randomization is being done by dedicated software for the purpose.
Earlier the DEO briefed the political representatives about the randomization process and assured them that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure free and fair polls.
The others present during the randomization were Dy. DEO, Abdul Jabar, DIO NIC, Prashant Kumar, ARO AC-54, and ARO- AC-55 Banihal.
