Baramulla The Chinar Youth Upliftment & Vocational Assistance (YUVA) Centre in Baramulla witnessed an unprecedented turnout during a two-day mega job fair on August 19th and 20th.
The event, organized through a collaboration between the Indian Army and the District Administration, aimed to provide a platform for job seekers and job providers, and successfully attracted thousands of enthusiastic youth.The fair featured an impressive lineup of prominent private companies, government agencies, and entrepreneurs, all eager to offer a variety of job openings, training programs, and skill development initiatives. These opportunities were specifically tailored to match the skill sets and aspirations of the local youth, covering sectors such as healthcare, IT, education, hospitality, and marketing.Live on-the-spot and online interviews were conducted by several companies, including Royal Orchid and Domino’s, resulting in immediate employment offers for deserving candidates. Additionally, the fair facilitated on-site registration for skill enhancement courses, providing the youth with tools to become more competitive in the job market.Experts were also on hand to offer career guidance and counseling, helping attendees align their interests with the available opportunities. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of such initiatives in fostering growth and empowerment among the local youth. Nizam Wani, the District Employment Officer of DECC Baramulla, expressed his gratitude towards the Indian Army for their steadfast support in organizing the fair, stating, “By bringing together employers and youth on one platform, we are working towards a more empowered and self-reliant Kashmir.”The event was met with overwhelmingly positive responses from both employers and job aspirants. Ishrat, a young woman candidate, praised the fair for opening up new opportunities in the hospitality sector, while Aabid, a local aspirant, thanked the organizers for a smooth process.As a result, many young attendees were able to secure jobs, while others enrolled in training programs that will boost their employability in the future. This job fair marks another step forward in reducing unemployment and empowering the youth of Baramulla, reflecting the ongoing commitment of the Indian Army to ensure a brighter and prosperous future for the region’s young population.
