9.5 grams of Heroin(Chitta) recovered at R.S.Pura, 2 drug peddlers arrested in NDPS cases: Police

Jammu: Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered 9.5 grams of Heroin and arrested two drug peddlers in two different NDPS cases in R S Pura area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that while continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substances the authorities of Police Statuon R S Pura recocered 9.5 grams of heroin from two drug peddlers under the jurisdiction of PS R.S.Pura.
Stating that A Police team of PS R.S.Pura led by SHO Police Station R.S.Pura while on routine patrolling, established a naka at Khamb near Asha Rice Mill in the jurisdiction of PS R.S.Pura and rounded up suspected identified as Sachin Choudhary S/O Gharu Ram Choudhary R/O Langerial Tehsil R.S.Pura, Police in its statement further said that during search one gram of heroin was recovered from the possession of the said accused, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 178/2024 U/S 8/21/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station R.S.Pura on 18th August and the accused was also arrested.

Stating that on Tuesday a Police team of Police Station R.S.Pura led by SHO PS R.S.Pura while on routine patrolling, established a naka at Kotli Gala Bana near Brick Kiln in the jurisdiction of PS R.S.Pura and rounded up a suspect identified as Siraj Din S/O Qasim Din R/O Old Agra Chak Tehsil R.S.Pura, Police in its statement further said that during search, 8.5 grams of heroin, was recovered from the possession of the said accused and a case under FIR No. 181/2024 U/S 8/21/60 NDPS Act was registered at PS R.S.Pura and the accused was also arrested.
Police in its statement furthermore said that investigation of the case is going on and efforts are on to intensively uproot the chains of drug supply in the region, adding therein that thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.

In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that it is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. Police in its statement also appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on Phone No: 01923-250221 or 100 with Police for the cause.
