Training sessions held for Officers, officials deputed for Election duty at Kupwara
Kupwara: The District Administration Kupwara on Saturday conducted a series of training sessions for various officers and officials who have been deployed for Election duty to ensure smooth conduct of the Assembly Election in the district.
A training session for the Sectoral Officers was held in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Kupwara which was presided over by District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan.
The training was imparted by Nodal Officer Elections/ National Level Master Trainer (NLMT), Sameer Jan.
On the occasion, NLMT briefed the Sector officers thoroughly about the responsibilities during the forthcoming election and urged them to put forth every effort to make the Assembly election smooth and successful.
The Sector Officers including both Police and Civil Officers were acquainted with essential skills and knowledge to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
Participants actively engaged in interactive sessions and practical demonstrations to enhance their understanding and proficiency in handling diverse scenarios.
Later, separate training sessions were held for Model Code of Conduct Committees, FSTs and SSTs, DEMC, AEOs, Accounting Teams, VVTs and VSTs and MCMC.
Meanwhile, the DEO impressed upon all the officers and officials deputed for the election assignments to gear up and work with utmost dedication and coordination to ensure fair and transparent conduct of Assembly Election in the district.

RO Office established for 24-Zadibal AC
Srinagar: For smooth conduct of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir, the office of the Returning Officer for the 24-Zadibal Assembly Constituency (AC) has been established at DC Office Srinagar.
The said office will function from Room No. 25 at the DC Office, Srinagar, situated at Amar Niwas Complex Tankipora, here.
In this connection, a Distribution/Collection Center is being established in S.P Higher Secondary School. M.A Road, Srinagar.

DEO Kulgam convenes meeting with Political Parties, stresses on strict adherence to MCC & ECI guidelines
Detailed orientation given regarding the election process
Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer (DEO), Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Monday convened a meeting with representatives of political parties at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.
The meeting was aimed to sensitize political parties about the rules and regulations governing the election, ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
During the meeting, a detailed orientation was given regarding the election process.
The DEO stressed the importance of strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and urged political parties to comply with the guidelines established by the ECI.
He also requested them to apply online for permissions through the Suvidha Candidates app and reach out to the 24×7 Control Room with any grievances through the toll-free number 1950.
SSP, Sahil Sarangal also briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place to conduct the elections peacefully in the district.
The DC and SSP assured absolutely free and fair elections in the district.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to uphold democratic values and ensure a smooth conduct of the upcoming election.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal; ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; ADC, Viqar Ahmad Giri; A-SP, ROs from all three Assembly Constituencies, AROs, and other concerned officers.

DEO Shopian meets representatives of Political Parties
DEO stresses importance of strict adherence to MCC
Shopian: The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Monday convened a meeting with representatives of various political parties to discuss the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and other applicable guidelines of the Election Commission of India, in view of the upcoming General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024.
During the meeting, the DEO asked for the effective cooperation of political parties for the smooth conduct of elections and emphasized the importance of seeking prior permission for election campaigning, rallies, and advertisements.
He stressed the significance of adhering to the Model Code of Conduct, crucial for ensuring free and fair elections and outlined the role and responsibilities of political parties and candidates in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
The representatives were also briefed on the comprehensive measures being put in place to ensure the transparency and efficiency of the electoral process. These measures include stringent monitoring of campaign expenditures and the use of advanced technological tools like cVIGIL, Suvidha and NCORE, which are provided by the Election Commission of India to enhance real-time monitoring and facilitate swift action in case of any violations.
The discussion also covered logistical arrangements, voter education, and measures to prevent electoral malpractice.
Representatives from the political parties also presented various suggestions which were acknowledged.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer MCC, ROs, AROs, Dy.DEO, Election staff alongside representatives of various political parties.

Facilitation Centre established for 24-Zadibal AC at office of Migrant Cell O/o Dy Comr, Srinagar
Srinagar: In order to ensure smooth and hassle free conduct of General Elections to Legislative Assembly in the J&K, 2024, a Facilitation Centre has been established for 24- Zadibal Assembly Constituency.
The Facilitation Centre shall operate from the office of Migrant Cell O/o Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar.
In this connection, a team of Officers/ officials under the supervision of Umar Gulzar, ARO/ AERO 24- Zadibal Assembly Constituency has been constituted to facilitate the candidates/ agents during filing of nominations and other election related work.
These Officers/ officials include Mohsin Lateef Khan, Naib Tehsildar (9149809047), Suhail Ahmad, Jr Asstt (7006299813), M Aquib, Jr Asstt (7006089008) and Mudasir Rashid, MTS (7006655484).
