CUK VC hoists National Flag during I-Day celebration

Ganderbal : Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath Thursday hoisted the National Flag on the 78th Independence Day, celebrated by the university at Tulmulla Campus here.
The Dean Academic Affairs, Deans of Schools, Heads and Coordinators of the Departments, faculty members, administrative staff, research scholars and students were present. The security wing and the students of the Department of Physical Education performed the march past on the occasion.
Congratulating the staff and the people of the country on the 78th Independence Day, Prof. A Ravinder Nath underscored the significance of Independence Day and the remarkable progress achieved by the nation and the university. Prof. A. Ravinder Nath said, “Today, as we celebrate 78 years of independence, we also reflect on our journey as an institution committed to excellence and innovation in the higher education sector.” He highlighted the university’s accomplishments, including the expansion of academic programmes, significant research initiatives, and the strengthening of collaborations with both national and international institutions of repute and with the industries. “Our growth is not merely a series of milestones, but a reflection of our dedication to nurturing talent, advancing knowledge, and contributing to the broader community,” he added.
CUKashmir Vice-Chancellor, said that our achievements are evident in the growing number of successful alumni who have made meaningful contributions in various fields. “Their accomplishments are a source of pride and inspiration for us all. As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us also celebrate the role that education plays in shaping the future of our nation. It is through education that we equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to drive progress and create positive change,” he said, adding that the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 can only be realized when people, especially the youth, will dream big and work hard to make the country an economic superpower and fully self-reliant in all the key sectors.
He said the university is providing state-of-the-art facilities, supportive learning environment to the students for their holistic development. “The success of our students is a reflection of our collective efforts to build a university that not only imparts knowledge but also inspires excellence and innovation,” he said.
Prof. A Ravinder Nath said, the day has huge significance as we honour the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom and as we renew our commitment to advancing the ideals of justice, liberty, and equality. “We must remember that their struggle was not only against oppression but also for the betterment of future generations. It is our prime responsibility to carry forward their legacy by working towards a society that embraces progress, innovation, and inclusivity,” he further added.
Sr. Asst Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sayid Bhat conducted the proceedings and presented the vote of thanks.
The tri-color was also hoisted by Dean School of Business Studies, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka at the Green Campus. Addressing the audience comprising faculty members, staff, research scholars and students, Prof. Nikka said that this day reminds of the sacrifices made by our forefathers, to free the country from subjugation. He said that cutting across the challenges of time, the country has reached a stage to set an ambition to be a developed country by 2047, which marks the completion of 100 years of Independence. “The Viksit Bharat has set the goal to address the issues of youth, women, farmers and the poor,” he added. Stating the success of G-20 summit under India’s presidency, he said that India’s non-aligned character and appropriate foreign policy has put it to an advantage to play its role in the global geo-poltics for peace and prosperity.
