NIT Srinagar Secures 79th Rank In Nirf Engineering Category Rankings

Srinagar: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has secured 79th rank in the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 that were released on Monday in New Delhi.
According to the data, NIT Srinagar secured the 79th rank among 1,463 government engineering colleges in India, placing it in the 151-200 rank band. In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath congratulated all Deans including Dean R&C Prof.(HAG) Roohie Naaz Mir, Dean F W Prof. G.A Harmain, Dean A A Dr. Mohammad Shafi Mir, Dean AIA Prof. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Dean P&D Dr. Yashwant Mehta and Dean SW, Prof. Abdul Liman, Heads of Departments, Heads of Centers, teaching and non teaching staff and students for their collective efforts that contributed to the institute’s overall performance in the NIRF 2024 rankings.
“NIT Srinagar has done well, thanks to the joint efforts of everyone involved in this. The results are encouraging, there is still much more to accomplish,” he said.
Prof. A. Ravinder Nath also praised contribution of NIRF Chairman, NIT Srinagar Prof. Najeeb Ud Din, Nodal Officer NIRF, Chairman NBA, Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Ahanger, Nodal Officer, NIRF Dr. Harveer Singh Pali, NIRF (Jr. Assistant) Mr. Ajay Kumar for their dedication and hard work.
Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Atikur Rahman extended his greetings to the entire NIT Srinagar family. The Institute has jumped from 82th rank in 2023 to 79th rank in 2024, which is a great achievement, he said.
“In future NIT Srinagar will feature among top 50 engineering colleges in India. We will continue to provide quality education and build state of art facilities on the campus,” he said.
NIRF team lead Prof. Najeeb Ud Din, Nodal Officer, NIRF 2024, Dr. Harveer Singh Pali both appreciated the efforts and active participation of all Deans, HoD’s, HoC’s, faculty and non-faculty staff, and students which led to this great achievement.
They also expressed their gratitude to Director NIT Srinagar; Prof. Ravinder A Nath led administration for their consistent support and encouragement.
“We are confident that, in future we will improve our rankings and recognition of the Institute,” they added.
On Monday, Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan released the India Rankings 2024, which implements the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) drafted for this purpose by the Ministry of Education in 2015.
Secretary, Higher Education, K. Sanjay Murthy; UGC, Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar; Chairman, AICTE, Prof. T.G. Sitharam; Chairman, NETF, Prof. Anil Sahasrabuddhe; Member Secretary, NBA, Dr. Anil Kumar Nassa, Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Sunil Kumar Barnwal; Joint Secretary, Govind Jaiswal; Chairman, and other academicians, heads of the institutions, etc. were present on this occasion.
