Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has cracked a theft case by arresting three accused involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property from their possession here in Pulwama.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that Police Station Pulwama on 9th August this year received a complaint from one Irshad Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohammad Dar R/o Lajoora Pulwama regarding theft of a water pump from the under-construction building at Dangerpora Pulwama, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 163/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama besides initiating investigation. Stating that during the investigation, the team from Police Station Pulwama rounded up three suspects namely Sheraj Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Nabi Bhat R/o Keller, Mehrooz Mushtaq S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Dar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir S/o Mohd Qasim Mir, both residents of Dangerpora , Police in its statement further said that after sustained questioning, the suspects confessed their involvement in the commission of crime following which they were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Police in its statement furthermore said that on the disclosure of the said accused the stolen water pump was recovered, adding therein that investigation into the case is underway.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to eliminate social crimes and appealed people to share information of anti-social elements with J&K Police.
