Jammu : Directorate of Agriculture Jammu organized a significant plantation drive as part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2024.
The event, held at Krishi Bhawan Complex and the Farmers Training Centre (FTC) Kissan Bhawan Jammu, featured impactful initiatives: “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam” and “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” commemorating the 78th Independence Day.
Under the leadership of Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, the plantation drive witnessed active participation from Sectoral Heads, each planting 50 saplings within their respective premises. This symbolic gesture served as a tribute to martyrs and a honouring mothers, underscoring the spirit of remembrance and respect.

This segment of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2024, which was graced by the presence of Director Agriculture Jammu, focused on planting key bee flora species, including Jamun, Bottle Brush, and Amaltas. The drive aimed to promote the cultivation of bee-friendly plants crucial for the survival of honey bees.
The plantation drive was attended by officials, including Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Satish Sharma, Deputy Director (Trainings) Alok Pandotra, Agronomist (VIS) Jammu Vikas Padha, Assistant Entomologist Rajesh Verma, and SMS-RL Darmesh Vaid, among others.
