DLSA Srinagar organizes event to observe ‘Int’l Youth Day’ at GBHSS Hazratbal

Srinagar: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar on Monday observed ‘International Youth Day’ at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Hazratbal.
The event held under the theme ‘Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development,’ aimed to highlight the vital role of young people in shaping a better future.
The programme was held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman DLSA Srinagar (PDJ, Srinagar) and under the supervision of Jahangir Ahmed Bakshi, Secretary DLSA Srinagar.
The event was attended by Principal, Staff Members of School, officials, Assistant legal aid defence counsel, Panel Lawyers and para-legal volunteers of DLSA Srinagar and students enthusiastically participated in the said programme.
The programme featured key insights from Urba Rashid, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel and Adv. Suhaila Ali, panel lawyer DLSA Srinagar. Addressing the students, they highlighted the importance of legal awareness and its role in shaping a just and equitable society. They emphasized the significance of youth participation in the legal system and encouraged students to utilize legal resources to protect their rights and address societal challenges.
The programme highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping a better future, with students taking the stage to share their perspectives on the theme of International Youth Day. Their impassioned speeches underscored the importance of education, social justice, and equal opportunities for all.

GDC Kulgam celebrates Int’l Youth Day, Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign
Srinagar: The NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Kulgam jointly celebrated International Youth Day, focusing on the theme of youth empowerment and the NashaMukt Bharat campaign.
The event was marked by insightful discussions and motivational speeches, highlighting the critical role of youth in shaping society.
Prof. Mohd Amin, Convener of the Red Ribbon Club, shed light on the significance of International Youth Day, emphasizing the vital role youth play in societal development.
Dr. Rayees Ahmad Rather, NSS Program Officer and Nodal Officer for NCORD, encouraged the youth to recognize their potential and take advantage of the opportunities available to them. He stressed the importance of youth involvement in the fight against drug abuse, urging them to stand firm against this menace for the betterment of society.
The program concluded with a rally, where participants voiced their commitment to building a prosperous and drug-free nation. The event left a lasting impact on all participants, inspiring them to actively contribute to society.

Int’l Youth Day: GDC Ajas, GDC Sumbal unite for Cleanliness and Mental Health Awareness
Bandipora:: In observance of ‘International Youth Day,’ a significant initiative was undertaken through the joint collaboration of the Red Ribbon Clubs and NSS Units of both GDC Ajas and GDC Sumbal.
In association with the Manasbal Development Authority, a Cleanliness Drive and Mental Health Awareness Campaign were successfully organized to promote environmental consciousness and mental well-being among the youth.
The day commenced with a Cleanliness Drive at the Manasbal Park, where students from both GDC Ajas and GDC Sumbal participated enthusiastically. The active involvement of students in this drive besides contributing to the beautification of the local environment also instilled a sense of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and preserving natural spaces.
Following the Cleanliness Drive, a Mental Health Awareness Campaign was held, featuring insightful talks from distinguished speakers.
Prof. Mehraj Din, NSS Programme Officer GDC Ajas and Prof. Shafia, Convenor Red Ribbon GDC Sumbal, addressed the students on the importance of mental health. Their speeches highlighted the need for awareness and the de-stigmatization of mental health issues, emphasizing the critical role that mental well-being plays in the overall development and success of young individuals.
GDC Ajas is conducting these activities under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Shabeena Shawl, who commended the collaboration between the colleges and expressed hope for continued joint efforts in future initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and community development.

HKM College B’pora celebrates ‘Int’l Youth Day’
Bandipora: The Red Ribbon Club of HKM Degree College Bandipora on Monday celebrated ‘International Youth Day’ with great enthusiasm and active participation.
On the occasion, the Club organised a Speech Competition on the theme, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ which resonated deeply with the participants and audience alike.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address from the College Principal in charge, Prof. (Dr.) IqbalHussainQadri, who took the opportunity to inspire and commend the students who participated in the competition.
The speeches presented were both insightful and thought-provoking, showcasing the depth of understanding and passion of the youth. Among the participants, MehrunNissa, a 4th Semester student, secured the first position for her eloquent and impactful speech. The second and third positions were awarded to Afeel Ahmad (4th Semester student) and TabassumShafi (3rd Semester student), respectively, whose speeches also garnered much appreciation.
Adding to the depth of the event, Prof. Gowhar Muslim Shah, HoD Commerce, addressed the gathering, reflecting on how technology has transformed society, particularly the youth, and the potential it holds for future progress.
Prof. G.M. Khan, a faculty member in the English Department, delivered a brief speech emphasizing the dangers of the misuse of the internet and technology, urging the youth to harness these tools for constructive purposes.
The jury consisted of Prof. M Shaikhul Ashraf, a senior faculty in Botany and Prof. BilqueesRasool, HoD English. They provided their valuable insights in evaluating the participants.
The event not only celebrated the vibrancy and potential of youth but also highlighted the importance of guiding them towards responsible and sustainable digital engagement.

TLSC Shopian celebrates ‘Int’l Youth Day’ at Zainapora
Shopian: As per the calendar of activities, issued by the Legal Services Authority J&K , ‘International Youth Day’ was celebrated on Monday under the theme ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.’ at Government Degree College Zainapora.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Chairman DLSA, Shopian, Raiz-ul-Haq Mirza and under supervision of the Chairperson, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Shopian, Rafia Hassan Khaki.
Speakers including the Chairperson, TLSC Shopian, Deputy Chief LADC Rafie Ahmad Ganie, Panel Advocate Nasir-ul-Islam & Police officer Javaid Maqbool spoke on the importance of the day.
On the occasion, Chairperson, TLSC Shopian briefed about the International Youth Day. She also emphasized on the role of youth in society and advised them to be the flag barrier of society in a positive way. She also discussed the role of youth in the development of Nations and society. She also dealt with the pros and cons of Digital World.
The other speakers highlighted the cultural, social and legal issues pertaining to youth and how these issues can be addressed and how stakeholders including the government and legal aid institutions can help in addressing these issues.
The program was attended by staff members of DLSA Shopian, PLVs, faculty members of the college & Police officers and students of the College.
