Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, on Saturday chaired a meeting of District Administrations and HoDs to review the preparations for TirangaYatra and different run-up activities to be organised for celebrating the Independence Day, 2024.
DIG Jammu Samba Kathua range, DIG Traffic Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division, Heads of Departments and concerned attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Div Com took appraisal of the preparations made by the district admins of Jammu Division regarding TirangaYatra, Tiranga Concert, Tiranga Tribute, Tiranga Pledge and Tiranga Canvas
The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners for meticulous planning and execution of all the activities while ensuring participation of students from Schools, Colleges, Armed forces personnel, Civil Society members, Cyclists, Bikers group, HoDs and officials.
It was informed that the Tirangayatra in Jammu District will be organized on 12 August. The yatra will commence from Gulshan Ground PHQ towards the back gate of Jammu University, Gujjar Nagar Tawi Bridge and back to Gulshan Ground PHQ.
The Div Com further directed all District Admins to organize Tiranga concerts with cultural programs and other similar activities at the District as well as Sub Division Level.
Directions were also given for organizing sanitation drives, Flag hoisting by HoDs, Illumination of Government Buildings and changing the background of official websites to Tricolour.
Under Tiranga tribute, the officers were asked to organize visits to families of Martyrs and pay homage to statues and shilapatts of the Martyrs in their respective districts.
During the run up activities, the participants will also take Tiranga Pledge and can write a message on Tiranga Canvas that shall be sent to New Delhi to be part of the National Independence Day celebrations.

Massive Tiranga rally marks celebrations in Bhaderwah
Bhaderwah: A massive Tiranga Rally was organized by the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bhaderwah under the supervision of ADC Sudershan Kumar as part of the ongoing SwachhtaPakhwadaSangram event. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students of various government and private schools in the region. The event, conducted in collaboration with the Additional Sub-District Administration of Bhaderwah, commenced at Kotli Bus Stand and proceeded towards the ASP office, before returning to the ADC office in Bhaderwah.
Leading the rally were key officials including the ADC Bhaderwah, TehsildarBhaderwah, ZEPO, NCC Officer, and all Sports Officers.
The rally not only celebrated the spirit of the tricolour but also emphasized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in line with the SwachhtaPakhwada campaign. Participants displayed great enthusiasm, waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans throughout the event.

Pulwama embraced by Tiranga: Thousands participate in Mega Rally amidst Patriotic Zeal
Srinagar : Under ‘HarGharTiranga’ campaign, a mega TirangaYatra led by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. BasharatQayoom was on Saturday organised at Pulwama.
The rally brought together people from all walks of life including youth, senior citizens, students and residents from different areas of district symbolizing the enduring spirit of Independence and the shared aspirations of Bharat united under the tricolour , celebrated with patriotic fervor.
As resonating notes of the national anthem filled the air, the TirangaYatra made its way from GDC Boys Pulwama through the bustling main market, culminating in a grand gathering at GDC Women Pulwama.
A plantation drive was conducted in noble remembrance of martyrs and heartfelt tribute was paid to the brave hearts, freedom fighters, and their families, honoring their sacrifice and valor. A Tiranga Canvas with writings ‘Jai hind’ and ‘HarGharTiranga’ portrayed as a powerful symbol of the event.
In his statement, the DC said, “We are profoundly moved by the remarkable enthusiasm and unwavering support demonstrated by the people of Pulwama for the Tiranga Rally. These rallies have beautifully unified the spirit of our nation, reflecting deep reverence and respect for our brave hearts,” congratulating all residents of Pulwama for such enthusiasm and overwhelming participation.
The event also witnessed participation of Senior Superintendent of Police, Pulwama, P.D. Nitya along with all District and Sectoral officers and Jawans of Paramilitary Forces and Police.
The HarGharTiranga campaign 2024 commemorates the rich history of the nation and has kindled a flame of patriotism that will continue to guide and inspire the community towards a brighter future.

Patriotic Tiranga Rally unites Gandoh ahead of I’ Day celebrations
Doda: In a show of patriotic fervor, a grand Tiranga Rally was organized at the Sub-Divisional Headquarters in Gandoh under the supervision of SDM Arun Kumar Badyal.
The rally was a collaborative effort between the Gandoh administration and Government Higher Secondary School Gandoh, aimed at igniting a sense of national pride among the participants. Teachers and students enthusiastically participated in the rally, which served as a powerful demonstration of their dedication to the motherland.
The rally saw students proudly carrying the Tricolour, while raising patriotic slogans throughout the route. The Gandoh administration meticulously planned and executed the event, ensuring all necessary arrangements were in place for a smooth and impactful rally. This event marks a significant part of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, reflecting the community’s deep-rooted love for the nation.
Key officials from Gandoh, including the SDPO, Tehsildar, SHO, and Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Gandoh, were in attendance, showing their support for the event.
