IUST Organized Prog On Global Nursing

Awantipora : Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT), Islamic University of Science and Technology hosted a program on Global Nursing: Education Opportunities in America.
Dr. Manjulata Evatt Clinical Associate Professor, Duquesne School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, USA, and Prof. Suresh Sharma Professor and Principal at the College of Nursing, AIIMS Jodhpur among others were the speakers of the program. Prof. AyubQadri, Dean of Health Sciences, and Ms. Neelofar Jan, Principal SMMCN&MT and Ms. AsmatParveen, Former Principal SMMCN&MT also interacted with the participants of the program.
Dr. Manjulata Evatt discussed the expanded roles of nurses beyond bedside care, emphasizing critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, and the impact of technology in advancing the profession. Prof. Suresh K Sharma emphasized the global phenomenon of population ageing and India’s potential to become a leader in providing competent human resources, especially in nursing.
Prof. Ayub Qadri highlighted IUST’s dedication to providing quality education to nursing students. The event concluded with a scientific session, where Prof. Suresh K Sharma and Dr. Manjulata Evatt delivered special lectures. Asmat Parveen underscored the importance of global nursing in addressing worldwide healthcare challenges, providing critical care, and improving health outcomes in diverse populations.
