DC Srinagar reviews arrangements for Independence Day Celebrations at Bakshi Stadium

DC directs comprehensive preparations to ensure hassle free conduct of I’ Day main event

Srinagar : In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day 2024 celebrations, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, visited Bakshi Stadium on Monday to review the arrangements and preparatory activities being undertaken by various Departments.
The DC along with the officers, toured the stadium pavilions and VIP gallery to gain a first-hand understanding of the preparatory activities. He conducted an on-site review of the arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.
During the visit, Dr. Bilal emphasized the importance of thorough preparations across various aspects, including seating facilities, cultural programs, the march past parade, transport and parking facilities, power supply, and the deployment of medical and first aid as well as fire and emergency tea
He also highlighted the need for effective media management, security arrangements, and the smooth entry of VVIPs, VIPs, and other participants.
“The seamless coordination among all departments is crucial for the successful execution of the Independence Day celebrations,” Dr. Bilal stated. “Every detail, from security to logistics, must be meticulously planned and executed to ensure a hassle-free event.”
The DC stressed the necessity of fool-proof security arrangements in and around the stadium to guarantee the safety of all attendees. He called upon all officers to maintain close coordination and communication to ensure the event proceeds without any issues.
The preparations are aimed at ensuring a grand and secure celebration of Independence Day, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism among the citizens.
The coordinated efforts of the police, civil administration, and various departments are expected to deliver a memorable event for all attendees.
The DC also stressed on making a contingency plan to tackle rains, if any occurred on August 15 function besides to combat water logging, if any caused due to rainfall on the occasion of Full dress rehearsal proceedings and the mega event on 15th August.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Senior officers from the police and civil administration were present during the visit.
