Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday booked a drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention order from the competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a drug smuggler namely Wazir Ahmad Chack @Wazir Joo S/o Ali Mohammad Chack R/o Trikanjan Boniyar, District Baramulla has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, adding therein that the said drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Stating that the many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler for being involved in promotion of drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Trikanjan, Boniyar, Nowshera and other areas of District , Police in its statement further said despite involvement in many FIRs the said drug smuggler did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Pollice said that people of the area have appreciated its role against drug peddlers/smugglers, reiterating therein its commitment to keep society free from drug abuse.
