New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party while praising the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a debate on the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Rajya Sabha.
Khatana’s remarks emphasized the significant shift in India’s political landscape post-2014, asserting that the direct election of Prime Minister Modi marked a departure from the alleged dominance of the Gandhi family in choosing the country’s leaders.
“In the past, despite the people’s votes, the Gandhi family had the final authority to appoint a Prime Minister. This changed after 2014 when the public directly chose their leader and gave him a third consecutive term to serve the country,” Khatana stated. His comments were directed at the Congress party, which had previously undermined democratic principles by centralizing power within a single family.
Khatana praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting his focus on national interests and his departure from appeasement politics, which he claimed had previously harmed the nation. “From day one, when Shri Narendra Modi Ji took the reins of the nation, he has been making decisions with the nation’s best interests in mind,” Khatana said. “Modi ji has rejected the vote bank and the appeasement politics that under Congress regime ruined the country.”
Highlighting India’s growing global stature under Modi’s leadership, Khatana noted the increasing international cooperation with India. “Entire Europe, the Gulf, Asia, Africa… the entire world seeks an opportunity to join hands with India,” he said, addressing Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh.“The caliber of Narendra Modi has forced world leaders to extend friendship hands towards us. This makes us feel proud to have a leader like Shri Narendra Modi. I wish him good health.” “All around the world, almost every country has awarded Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji with their highest civilian honors, which speaks volumes about how tirelessly our leader is working for this great country,” Khatana added.
Khatana also praised Modi’s impact on India’s youth and economy. “Our Prime Minister has transformed our youth from job seekers to job givers. This is due to his vision. He himself led a nationwide cleanliness drive, resulting in a cleaner India. The US recognizes these efforts,” he said. Khatana attributed the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission to Modi’s leadership, stating that every household in the country now has access to toilets, making India open defecation free. “Our world-class infrastructure is a testament to his vision,” Khatana continued. “Since 2014, PM Modi has been achieving his dreams for a developed India with self-reliant Indians. With the blessing of God, he is leaving no stone unturned to make the country a world leader, going beyond vote-bank politics.” Khatana also contrasted the current administration with previous governments, emphasizing the reduction in corruption and scandals. “Prior to 2014, newspapers and news channels were flooded with stories of scams and scandals. But Modi brought significant and much-needed changes in governance,” he said. Khatana’s speech not only underscored the achievements of the Modi government but also served as a pointed critique of the Congress party’s past leadership. As the nation continues to evaluate the impact of Modi’s policies, Khatana’s comments highlight the ongoing political discourse surrounding India’s governance and development trajectory.
MP Khatana also commended the Union Budget 2024-25, highlighting its provisions for economic growth, job creation, and infrastructure development. He emphasized that the budget reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a self-reliant India and supporting various sectors to ensure inclusive development.
