GMC Srinagar mourns demise of Prof Dr. Qazi Masood, Ex- Principal GMC Srinagar

Srinagar : Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has expressed deep shock over the sad demise of Prof (Dr) QaziMasood (Ex-Principal/ Dean, GMC Srinagar), who left for heavenly abode on Thursday on 25th July 2024.
As the news of the demise of Prof (Dr) QaziMasood poured in a pall of gloom encompassed Govt. Medical College, Srinagar
Prof (Dr) QaziMasood served as Principal/ Dean, GMC Srinagar, in the year 2011 & 2012, prior to that he was Professor & Head, Department of Dermatology, GMC Srinagar.
He joined GMC Srinagar as a faculty in the year 1982 and during his tenure he served GMC Srinagar in different capacities. His contributions in the medical and academic field is highly commendable and his leadership quality is widely acknowledged and respected everywhere.
A condolence meeting was held on Thursday on 25th July 2024 in Govt. Medical College, Srinagar to condole the sad demise of Prof. QaziMasood, which was chaired by Principal/ Dean, Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan.
The meeting was attended by Administrator, Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak along with various Heads of Department, Medical Superintendents, Senior Faculty Members, Officers and administrative staff of GMC Srinagar, who expressed grief over his demise and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and also extended their sympathies with Prof (Dr) Shahida Mir (Ex-Principal/ Dean, GMC Srinagar) and other family members.
While condoling the demise of Prof. Qazi Masood, Principal/ Dean, GMC Srinagar, Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan conveyed her heartfelt condolences and prayed for peace to the departed soul and called it a personal loss. She illustrated how under the guidance and patronage of Late Prof. QaziMasood, the department of Dermatology reached newer heights and she felt herself blessed to have worked with him as he was not only an astute Clinician, an academician par excellence but also a great Administrator.
Various Heads of Department, faculty members and other Administrative Staff paid rich tributes to the departed soul and prayed for his eternal peace. No:-
