3 drug peddlers arrested in B’gam, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that following specific inputs a Police party of Police Station Charar Sharief along with concerned Executive Magistrate raided the specific location in the jurisdiction of Police Station Charar Sharief and apprehended three accused along with vehicle (Santro) bearing registration number:-CH04A-4603) . Police in its statement further said that the said accused arrested by it were identified as Gh Mohd Handroo S/o Gh Ahmad Handroo, Aquib Handroo S/o Gh Ahmad Handroo, Mohd Maqbool Handroo S/o Gh Ahmad Handroo, all residents of Kakapora Pulwama , adding therein that during search, 6 Kgs of Poppy Straw were recovered from the possession of the said accused persons who were arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
In the concluding para of its statement Police said that a case under FIR No. 64/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Charar Sharief besides initiating further investigation.
