Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has rescued three more minor girls and arrested two persons involved in case FIR No. 173/2024 of Police station Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during the course of investigation of case FIR No. 173/2024 of Police Station Baramulla two more suspects identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan S/o AbRehmanR/o Narbal and Manzoor Ahmad Shah S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Janbazpora, have been arrested for being involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the J&K.
Stating that a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO Police Station Baramulla, arrested both the accused and were shifted to Police Station Baramulla, Police in its statement further said that three minor victim girls of Rohingya, Burma were also rescued. Police in its statement further said that two accused from Baramulla were arrested and four minor girls were rescued during the initial investigation of the case.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that this operation demonstrates the commitment of the J&K Police to combat human trafficking for the purposes of ensuring safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals.
