IIM Jammu to hold a five-day Holistic Orientation Prog

Jammu : The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu is set to welcome its new batch of students with a comprehensive five-day orientation program from July 15 to July 20, 2024. The event will cater to the 9th Batch of MBA (2024-26), 3rd Batch of MBA (HA&HM) (2024-26), 5th Batch of
Ph.D. (2024-28), 3rd Batch of Ph.D. (Working Professionals) (2024-28), and the 4th Batch of EMBA (2024-26).
The onboarding of the students will commence from 13th July to 14th July 2024.
The idea associated with this Orientation Program is to acquaint the incoming students with the culture, academic opportunities, ethos, and general rules of IIM Jammu. The programme will help in facilitating a welcoming environment for the new aspiring students and their families to meet and have open communication with the faculty, staff, senior students, and all key activity heads of the Institute under one roof. The orientation programme includes a mix of academic sessions, personal development workshops, and networking opportunities with top bureaucrats, faculty, industry leaders, and peers.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Government of India, New Delhi, will be the Chief Guest for the Orientation Programme. Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu, will preside over the function and deliver the presidential address. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, will
deliver the welcome address. Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director, AIIMS Jammu and Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, will deliver their welcome addresses. The valedictory ceremony will feature Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest. RK Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation Ltd., will be the Guest of Honour. Baldev Prakash, MD & CEO Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and Sandeep Kumar Gupta,
Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL Ltd., will also be gracing the valedictory as Guests of Honor. Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, remarked that the orientation program sets the tone for a collaborative and enriching academic journey. It is an excellent opportunity for students to start building their network and to get a comprehensive understanding of what IIM Jammu has to offer. He wished all students good luck for their journey ahead.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, emphasized that the orientation program is designed to help students assimilate into the IIM Jammu culture, encouraging academic excellence and personal growth. He expressed happiness in welcoming the new batches at the state-of-the-art campus at Jagti and
wished them good luck for their fruitful journey at IIM Jammu. The inaugural day will feature sessions by R.R. Swain, Director General J&K Police, Mekhla Sinha, Executive Director, Global Human Resource Development Center, (GHRDC)
followed by a meeting with Council and Second Year Students followed by dinner.
The Orientation Programme will also feature various interactive and enriching sessions by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, and other faculty and officers of the Institute. During the Orientation Program, each day will commence at 6:00 AM with ‘Maximize
Happiness and Mindfulness’ sessions conducted by Mr. Sahil Mehra, Yoga Guru.
Top bureaucrats and industry speakers are also invited to address the new batch and motivate them for their academic journey at IIM Jammu. On the second day, Dr. Karan Singh, Former Union Cabinet Minister for Health, Civil Aviation, and Education, Govt. of India, and Ambassador of India to the USA, Dr. Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief E4m & BW Business World Group, Deepali Jetley, Chief People Officer, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Sourav Dasgupta, Sr. Vice President & Head of IT, All Cargo Logistics Ltd., will address the students. This will be followed by cultural programs organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL). The third day will feature Mr. Shashi Kumar K, Talent Acquisition and Early careers (University Campus)
India Lead, Publicis Sapient, Sheetal Sharma, Associate Director People and Culture, Grant Thornton, Satish Mohapatra, EVP Talent Acquisition, Maruti Suzuki, Koustubh Kanade, Senior Leadership, British Biologicals, Shri Mohit Gupta, Co-Founder, Friends of Books (FROB) and Anubhuti Sharda, DySP Cyber Cell, Jammu. The day will conclude with cultural programs by ‘Natrang’ led
by Padmashri Balwant Thakur.
The fourth day will feature prominent leaders and bureaucrats including, Shri Anshul Garg, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Shri Deven Kanade, Director- Industry Solutions, Oracle, Kavita Kurup, Chief People Officer, UST, Ms. Dipti Naidu, Manager, HR Business Partner, Mastercard Technology Private Limited, Shri Shiv Shankar Sarma, Secretary at Federation for World Academics (FWA) and Founder & Facilitator, Education Post, Shri Mehul Oza, Vice President – HR, NSE, Dinesh Pandey, Leadership Team of Founder’s Office,Mu Sigma. The day will conclude with cultural programs by first-year students. The fifth day will feature notable speakers including Shri Anand Jain, ADGP, Jammu, Souren Paul,
Country Brand Lead – (Marketing Head) Pfizer, Pfizer, Shri Nishant Shekhar, Managing Director, BCG, Sushmita Sinha, Head of Talent Acquisition and Internal Committees, Jubilant Food Works Ltd, Manay Khaitan, Associate Director and Head Supply Chain Finance, PepsiCo. The holistic five-day orientation program at IIM Jammu is designed to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience, preparing the new batch for a stimulating academic journey ahead.
