Poonch : The District Administration Poonch joined hands with Indiahikes, a leading private trekking organization, to organize and promote a captivating trek expedition exploring the picturesque landscapes of Poonch.
The collaborative effort, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, aims to showcase the natural wonders and trekking potential of the area. As part of the initiative, Indiahikes has organized a trek that takes participants on a journey through the stunning vistas of the Seven Lakes, a popular trekking route in the region.
The trek expedition commenced on July 9, 2024, with the Indiahikes team trekking from Chandimarh to Thera, covering a distance of 7.8 km. The trek was flagged off by SDM Surankote, Farook Khan.
On the second day, the team trekked from Thera to Khuan, covering a distance of 9.2 km and the third day saw the trek from Kaun to Neelsar, covering a distance of 5.5 km.
“This collaboration between the district administration and Indiahikes is a strategic move to showcase the unparalleled natural beauty and trekking opportunities that Poonch has to offer,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
The partnership between the district administration and Indiahikes is expected to significantly increase tourist footfall in the area, further contributing to the growth and development of the region.
