DC reviews performance of RDD Sector in Ramban,Calls for Timeline Completion of Works

BDOs asked to stay in panchayats from tomorrow starting with far-flung areas

Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary on Friday reviewed the working of Rural Development Department (RDD) while stressing the importance of completing works within set timelines.
The DC reviewed the progress achieved under different RDD schemes, including the status of works under MGNREGA, CAPEX budget, construction of PMAY-G houses, implementation of Aspirational Panchayat and Block Development Plans, besides Geo Tagging of completed works. The execution of IWMP development works, implementation of NLM and the Aspirational Block Development Program was also reviewed thoroughly.
The meeting was informed that there are 100374 registered MGNREGA workers in the district out of which 57984 are active, while as many as 12591 works have been proposed under the scheme for the Financial Year 2024-25.
It was further informed that 35602 houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-G of which more than 20000 have been completed, including 625 in the current financial year (2024-2025). Similarly, out of 2693 approved works 2604 works have been taken up on ground under the district Capex budget.
The DC asked BDOs to stay in the panchayats from tomorrow, starting with far-flung areas to have first hand appraisal of the developmental needs of the community.
Emphasizing the best utilization of resources and working season, the DC directed the department to accelerate the pace of sanctioning, approval and completion of work within the stipulated time frame.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Roshan Lal, SDM Gool Pawan Kumar Goswami, SDM Banihal Rizwan Asgar, ACD Ramban Srinath Suman, ACP Ramban Ashfaq Khanji, CPO Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, BDOs, and other concerned officials.
