DDC Doda leads Block Diwas Prog at Shermatoo Top Panchayat Chiralla

Doda : District Development Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh presided over the weekly Block Diwas Programme here on Wednesday at Shermatoo Top Panchayat in Sunarthawa- Block Chiralla.
District and Sector Officers, including CEO BDA Bhaderwah Bal Krishan, accompanied the Commissioner to address the issues and concerns of the local populace.
DDC Singh emphasized the importance of public outreach initiatives in bridging the gap between the administration and the people. He highlighted that such events provide a platform to residents to voice their grievances and seek redressal directly from the officials. The presence of District and Sector Officers ensured that the concerns raised were promptly addressed, and solutions were discussed on the spot.
The Block Diwas Programme also included interactive sessions where villagers engaged directly with the officers, discussing a range of issues from infrastructure development to social welfare schemes. DDC Singh assured the attendees that their feedback would be taken seriously and efforts would be made to implement necessary changes to improve their living conditions.
The programme concluded with a commitment to strengthen the administrative machinery’s responsiveness and enhance the overall development of the region.
During the public outreach program, Ex -sarpanchs raised different issues, grievances and demands before the DC Doda.
The prominent demands raised in the event included road connectivity towards Jantroon Dhar, adequate staff in local school, bringing the area on the tourism map, hosting of Jantroon Dhar festival, demarcation of the land for construction of school buildings, opening of J&K Bank branch, linking the Kahara to Jantroon Dhar , replacement of the damage wooden electric poles, issuance of APL and BPL ration cards to separated families, prevention of forest fires, plantation drive in the area, holding of awareness camp on new criminal law, blacktopping and renovation of roads connecting adjoining areas, measures to resolve problem of shortage of water.
The locals also demanded the holding of a block divas event at Thallela, removal of a big boulder on Puneja to Bhllara road, and development of a power receiving station.
Similar Weekly Block Diwas event was held at Dhamunda Park Panchayat Manthla to redress the grievances of people.
The event was chaired by DDC chairman Dhananter Singh who listened to the issues of the public in presence of ADC Bhaderwah, BDO Bhaderwah, BMO, LDO, CDPO, TSO, DFO, and officials from other Horticulture, Agriculture and other departments.
The government officers provided different services and listened to the grievances and demands of people. They resolved many issues on the spot pertaining to their respective departments.
Local participants projected a variety of demands before the DDC chairman and ADC, particularly the burning issue of drinking water, who assured them of early redressal.
The chairman and ADC assured to resolve the issue of drinking water on priority within one week.
