Jammu: In a significant breakthrough under Operation SANJEEVANI, Jammu & Kashmir Police in Jammu District apprehended an interstate drug peddler from Bihar with 5 kg and 811 grams of Ganja in Narwal area, Jammu.
A police spokesman said that acting on vigilant patrolling, a team from Police Post Narwal intercepted Shivshankar Kumar, identified as S/O Vipin Ray from Rampur Shamchand, District: Vaishali, Bihar. During a thorough search near Railway Pulley, Narwal, the team recovered the illicit substance from his possession.
FIR No. 146/2024 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, with the accused in custody pending further investigation.
The successful operation was executed under the supervision of SDPO City East and SP City South, Jammu, led by the Inspector-in-Charge of Narwal Police Post and SHO of Bahu Fort.
