Int’l Day of Yoga-2024: Functions held across all Distt Court Complexes of Kashmir

Srinagar : To commemorate ‘International Day of Yoga’-2024 (IDY), the District Legal Services Authorities on Friday organised mega functions across all the District Court Complexes of Kashmir under the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’
International Yoga Day is observed on June 21, the longest day in the year, symbolising the significance of light and the transition to Dakshinayana, an auspicious period in the Indian tradition.
The practice of yoga asanas or postures enables individuals to attain control over their mind, body and soul, and how it combines physical and mental disciplines to foster a state of serenity in both body and mind, helping to manage stress and anxiety while promoting relaxation.

At Srinagar, the District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar, in collaboration with J&K Youth Services & Sports and Department of Ayush, Srinagar, celebrated International Yoga Day on Friday at the District Court Complex, Srinagar.The celebration was held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman (PDJ) DLSA, Srinagar.The event was graced by the presence of Pr. District and Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Srinagar and the participation of all the Learned Judicial Officers of the District Court, Srinagar.The main aim of observing International Yoga Day was to promote the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being, particularly among the legal fraternity and the general public. The event aimed to create awareness about the benefits of yoga in reducing stress, improving health, and increasing productivity.Speaking on the occasion, Pr. District and Sessions Judge emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine.Earlier, the program commenced with a yoga demonstration by trained instructors, followed by a mass yoga session, where participants from all walks of life, including Administrative Staff, Judicial Staff, of District Court Srinagar, lawyers, officials, Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Defence Counsels and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar enthusiastically participated.The event also featured a lecture on the benefits of yoga and its relevance in today’s fast-paced life.

At Budgam, the District Legal Services Authority Budgam under the guidance of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. Distt& Sessions Judge) Budgam celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with the Department of AyuAround 60 participants participated in the event with great enthusiasm.On the occasion, different Yoga Asanas were performed under the guidance of yoga experts/instructors.TLSC Magam of district Budgam also celebrated the International Day of Yoga at their respective court.Moreover a separate session of Yoga was conducted at District Court Complex Budgam in which trainer from Department of Ayush performed different Yoga Asanas which was followed by participants including Chairman District Legal Services Authority (PD&SJ) Budgam, Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam and other officials of District Court besides staff of DLSA and PLVs of DLSA Budgam.

At Ganderbal, the District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal in collaboration with District Judiciary, Ganderbal and Government College of Physical Education, Gadoora, Ganderbal celebrated 10th International Yoga Day Friday in the premises of District Court, Ganderbal.The event was held under the chairmanship of Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman District legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal and under the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.The event was attended by Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman District legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ganderbal, MainazQadir, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ganderbal, RubayaNaqash, CAO, District Court Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad, District Nodal Officer AyushGanderbal, LADCs, Bar Members, Staff of District Judiciary/DLSA/TLSC Ganderbal, PLVs of District Ganderbal etc.Yoga Instructors namely Showkat Ahmad Ganie and AfreenNabi, deputed by District Nodal Officer AyushGanderbal, held training sessions and emphasized on the importance and relevance of Yoga in the lives of human beings and services of society.

At Bandipora, the District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora in coordination with District Judiciary Bandipora and in collaboration with Indian System of Medicine (AYUSH) Bandipora and District Administration Bandipora Friday organized a mega function to celebrate District Court Complex Bandipora.The event was held under the supervision of Incharge Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Zargar and guidance of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak.The yoga session had the presence and participation of Manzoor Ahmad Zargar Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora, Chief Administrative Officer District Court Bandipora, Staff Members of District Judiciary Bandipora and Staff members of DLSA Bandipora and PLVs.At the outset, Irshad Ahmad (Yoga Instructor) spoke on the significance of the day and highlighted the benefits of incorporating yoga as part of our daily lives. He encouraged the inculcation of daily yoga practice as a habitual activity.Yoga Instructor, an expert in Yoga from AYUSH, Bandipora explained and demonstrated yoga poses according to the Common Yoga Protocol intended to create general awareness among people and community to get harmony and peace through Yoga. The 45 minutes session on Yoga included body-loosening practices, knee exercises and the Namaskar Mudra.Moreover, Munsiff Court Sumbal also celebrated international yoga day at Munsiff Court Sumbal Friday on 21st of June 2024 in presence of Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Sumbal. The programme was participated by Staff Members of Munsiff Court Sumbal and Staff members of TLSC Sumbal and PLVs.

At Kupwara, the International Yoga Day was Friday celebrated by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kupwara along with District Judiciary Kupwara in collaboration with Indian System of Medicine (AYUSH) Department Kupwara.The day was celebrated under the supervision and immediate guidance of Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Session Judge) Kupwara, ShaziaTabasum.The International Yoga Day was celebrated across district Kupwara including Tehsil Legal Services Committees Tangdhar, Handwara and Sogam.Yoga Instructor, an expert in Yoga from AYUSH, Kupwara explained and demonstrated yoga poses according to the Common Yoga Protocol intended to create general awareness among people and community to get harmony & peace through Yoga.Speakers on the occasion laid emphasis on the importance of Yoga and its benefits. The speakers also highlighted how yoga not only enhances personal health but also contributes to social wellbeing. It underscores the interconnectedness of individual and collective health, promoting yoga as a tool for personal growth and societal betterment.Besides, Judicial Officers, DLSA Staff, Judiciary Staff, LADCs and Para Legal Volunteers Kupwara participated in the Yoga event.

At Kulgam, the District Legal Services Authority, Kulgam in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sport Office and ISM (Ayush), Kulgam celebrated International Yoga Day at District Court Complex Kulgam.The event was held under the supervision of Chairman District Legal Services Authority/ Principal District and Session Judge, ParvaizIqbal and under the guidance of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kulgam, TabassumQadirParray.The Yoga Session was attended by Pr. District and Session Judge/ Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Kulgam, Judicial Officers, Advocates, Staff Members of District Judiciary Kulgam and Staff members of DLSA Kulgam including PLVs.Yoga Instructor from AYUSH spoke on the significance of the day. He also highlighted the benefits of incorporating yoga as part of our daily lives.He explained and demonstrated yoga poses according to the Common Yoga Protocol intended to create general awareness among people and community to get harmony and peace through Yoga.

At Baramulla, a vibrant event was Friday held to commemorate “International Day of Yoga’ at the District Court Complex in Baramulla,Officials from the Judiciary and Bar Association participated in the event enthusiastically to embrace the essence of wellness and unity.Yoga Instructor, an expert in Yoga from AYUSH, Baramulla explained and demonstrated yoga poses according to the Common Yoga Protocol intended to create general awareness among people and community to get harmony & peace through Yoga.Speakers on the occasion laid emphasis on the importance of Yoga and its benefits. The speakers also highlighted how yoga not only enhances personal health but also contributes to social wellbeing.
