Jammu : Government Departments, Educational institutions on Friday celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga with great fervor and enthusiasm.

DLSA Bhaderwah: In celebration of the International Day of Yoga, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah organized a Yoga camp early in the morning. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all Judicial Officers posted in Bhaderwah, led by Amarjeet Singh Langeh, Chairman of DLSA Bhaderwah (I/C Principal District & Sessions Judge), and supervised by Ramesh Lal, Secretary of DLSA Bhaderwah.The camp was attended by Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), and allied court staff from the District Court Bhaderwah. This year marked the 10th International Yoga Day, with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasizing the dual benefits of yoga practices: enhancing personal well-being and improving societal health.

DLSA Kathua: Under the direction of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kathua (also Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Kathua) Ashok Kumar Shavan, DLSA Kathua observed the International Yoga Day with greater zeal and fervor at District Court Complex Kathua.Yoga experts from Art of Living lead by Rameshwar Sharma demonstrated the Asanas besides throwing light on the countless benefits of Yoga for body, mind and soul.This event was attended by the Staff of Addl. District & Sessions Judge Kathua, Officers of Legal Aid Defense Counsel Kathua, staff of District Legal Services Authority Kathua and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Kathua.

DLSA Ramban: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ramban celebrated International Yoga Day by organizing a Yoga Session in collaboration with ‘BharityaVidyaMandir High School, Ramban’.The program was held under the supervision of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ramban, Ranbir Singh Jasrotia and under able guidance of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ramban.The Yoga session was attended by Ld. Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, ShilpaDogra, along with staff and Para Legal Volunteers of District Judiciary and DLSA Ramban.In her address, Ld. Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, highlighted the importance of yoga and exercises for people in society and also mentioned that everyone should involve yoga in their day to day life in order to improve health which eventually would lead to the betterment of society.

DLSA Samba: Under the directions of Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba (also Pr.Distt. & Sessions Judge Samba), the DLSA Samba observed the International Yoga day at District Court Complex Samba. RavinderMansotra and Shakti Sagar, the Yoga experts from Art of Living talked about the countless benefits of Yoga for body, mind and soul and they also conducted YOGA sessions of different YOG AASANAS. They also deliberated upon how Yoga promotes self healing, enhances self awareness, helps in attainment of equilibrium and harmony and much more.This event was witnessed by UrvashiRaina, Additional Munsiff, Samba, Nisha Rani, Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel Samba, President Bar Association Samba and advocates from District Bar Association Samba, Panel Advocates, staff of District Court Complex Samba and District Legal Services Authority Samba.

Tehsil Admin Kastigarh: The Tehsil Administration Kastigarh, in collaboration with NGO Navodaya Express Helping Charitable Trust and its associate NGO (WORK), along with Dy.SPVarinder Singh Memorial HSS Kastigarh, celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day at the premises of Dy. SP Varinder Singh Memorial HSS Kastigarh.TehsildarKastigarh, PushpakSaroop was the Chief Guest on the occasion while senior officers participated as special guests. Students and school staff engaged in a variety of activities in addition to performing YogAsanas.

GDC Marh: The 10th International Yoga Day was celebrated at Government Degree College Marh under the direction of Principal of the College, Prof. Dr.Rakesh Kumar Koul under the theme “Yoga for Self and Society”.Principal explained yoga as a significant part of our daily life. He personally imparted to the participants a number of significant physical, mental, and spiritual techniques that would strengthen their immunity and enhance their general well-being.

GCW Gandhinagar: Government College for Women Gandhinagar, Jammu, commemorated the 10th International Yoga Day 2024 with enthusiasm and zeal on its campus. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr.S.PSarswat, Principal of the college, the event drew participation from over 100 students, including NCC cadets from 1 JK Naval Unit, 1 JK Girls Battalion, 2 JK Girls Battalion, NSS students, and dedicated faculty members.The morning began with a rejuvenating hour-long yoga session led by Tarun, a renowned yoga instructor and gold medallist from the college. In his address, Prof. Dr.S.PSarswat emphasized the transformative impact of yoga in daily life, urging students to integrate it into their routines to foster health, happiness, and overall well-being.

GCOE Jammu: On the occasion of 10thInternational Yoga Day 2024, the Department of Physical Education, GCOE, Jammu actively on Friday Yoga Event in the college premises.As many as 50 students along with teaching and non-teaching staff of the college participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm under the patronage of Dr.JyotiParihar, Principal, GCOE, Jammu who sensitized the students about the importance of Yoga for Self and Society and its benefits for the mental as well as the physical well-being of an individual.

GDC Vijaypur: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur celebrated International Day of Yoga. The objective of celebrating this day was to aware students of the college about the importance of yoga. As many as 50 NSS volunteers of the college participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal and performed different Yoga Asanas.Prof. PoonamKundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) briefed about the essence of Yogic exercises.

GDC Ramgarh: To commemorate 10th International Yoga Day, Government Degree College, Ramgarh celebrated International Yoga Day. The event was organized under the guidance and supervision of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) GeetanjaliAndotra.The Principal encouraged all the participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced life. The whole event was coordinated by Nodal Officer, Prof. BrhamDutt (NSS).
GDC Dharmari: Government Degree College Dharmari organized a two days workshop on Yoga to celebrate 10th International Yoga Day, concluded here on Friday. The workshop was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of the college in collaboration with NSS Unit of GHSS Dharmari in which more than 100 NSS volunteers of the college, Government Higher Secondary School Dharmari, staff and students participated. The purpose of the workshop was to make the students aware about the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of Yoga.

GDC Majalta: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Majalta organized a workshop cum demonstration on Yoga. The event aimed to promote the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being, and to encourage its adoption as a lifestyle choice. The program commenced with an inaugural address by Principal Prof. Dr. Shalini Sharma, who highlighted the significance of yoga in daily life. The renowned Yoga Instructor, Yash Paul conducted a live yoga demonstration and guided participants through various Asanas, Pranayama, and meditation practices. Over 50 NSS volunteers and faculty members, including DrChander Mohan, Prof. Dalip, and Prof. Naresh, Vinod Kumar, Jasvinder Singh were prominent among the staff who actively participated in the event, making it a resounding success.

HSS Berarru: Higher Secondary School Berarru celebrated the 10th edition of International Day of Yoga on Friday in the school premises.Staff and Students participated in a variety of other activities besides the performance of YogAsanas.Students took part in a painting competition giving pictorial displays of various aasnas, some other students participated in an essay writing competition on the topic “Yoga for Self and Society”.Principal, Anjeel Thakur described Yoga as a complete package of both physical and mental workout that makes both our body and soul strong.

84 Bn CRPF: With the theme of “Yoga for Self and Society”, 84 Bn CRPF organized 10th International Yoga Day, on the bank of Chenab river, at TacHq 84 Bn Boom Ramban. As many as 100 officers and personnel took part in the yoga.Commandant CRPF, N Ranbir Singh emphasized the role of the ancient Indian art of Yoga that helps in fostering the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of the people and society. He urged everyone to practice Yoga in their daily life.
