Srinagar: Three members of a family were killed and three others injured when a shooting stone hit a vehicle at Zojila pass on the Srinagar–Ladakh highway on Sunday.
The incident took place at Panimatha when a shooting stone hit a vehicle which was on the way to tourist destination Sonamarg from Kargil, Police said.
The deceaseds have been identified as Ghulam Mohdin Sheikh (40) , his wife Sada Begam (38) and son Zeeshan Mahdin (14) resident of Drass.
The 16-year-old daughter of Sheikh identified as Rabia Mahdin was injured in the accident.
Two other injured persons have been identified as Abdul Majeed Bhat, and Sahil Ahmed Bhat, both residents of Matayan Drass.
All the injured were taken to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sonamarg for treatment from where they were shifted to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for further treatment, they said.
