DDC G’bal presides over Drug de-addiction awareness program

Bandipora: Government Degree College (GDC) Ajas in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora and Ali Sports Academy Bandipora organized an awareness programme on drug de-addiction and career counseling at GDC Ajas.
The programme was aimed to educate students and community members about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of making informed career choices.
The programme featured guest speaker Faisal Ali Dar, a Padma Shri Awardee, known for his contributions to sports and youth empowerment.
Mehraj Din Dar, Assistant Professor Education Government Degree College Ajas, delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the day’s events.
Faisal Ali Dar, a Padma Shri Awardee, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He spoke passionately about the perils of drug addiction, drawing from real-life examples and statistical data to underline the severity of the issue.
He also shared his journey and experiences in sports, illustrating how engaging in sports can serve as a powerful deterrent to drug use.
Faisal encouraged the youth to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience, stressing the importance of hard work and dedication in achieving success.
The programme included interactive workshop and activities designed to engage participants actively.
The workshop covered a range of topics, from skill development to stress management, providing practical advice and strategies for personal and professional growth.
The inclusion of sports activities, facilitated by Ali Sports Academy, underscored the importance of physical fitness and teamwork.
Mehraj Din Dar reiterated the commitment of Government Degree College Ajas to continue organizing such meaningful programmes in the future, aiming to empower the youth and build a healthier, more informed community.
He said collaborative effort between educational institutions, government bodies, and sports academies highlighted the potential for community-based approaches to address pressing social issues.
