Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav on Monday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and Urs Shah Farid Ud Din Sahib (R.A).
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Abdul Qayoom; Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal; CEO KDA, Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACD Phulail Singh; AO DC Office Satinder Kumar; AD Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Shafkat Keen and other concerned officers and representatives of Majlis-e-Shoura.
The representatives of the Majlis-e-Shoura projected requirements and made pertinent demands to facilitate the seamless observance of the festivals. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the different arrangements, including the provision of accommodation for devotees, power supply, water supply, ration, LPG, sanitation, security, medical care, transportation, deployment of fire tenders and overall traffic management during the festive days. He passed a slew of directions to the Stakeholder Departments.
The SSP outlined the security measures and assured adequate deployment of security personnel at strategic locations for the festivals.
The Jal Shakti and JPDCL departments were asked to guarantee uninterrupted water and electricity supply throughout the district during the festive days, particularly at shrines and religious places. The Jal Shakti department was specifically instructed to make provisions for backup water tankers at Chowgan Ground on Eid Nimaz for residents.
AD Food, Civil Supplies & CA Shafkat Keen was instructed to check the quality and availability of ration, LPG, and essential food items, including fruits, vegetables, milk, and dairy products.
Joint market checking teams were constituted to keep eye on quality of food items and overpricing in the market. The teams will intensify market inspections and monitor compliance with approved rates and quality standards, as instructed by DC Kishtwar.
The municipal authorities were directed to focus on proper sanitation, lime-lining, and lighting of streets, towns, religious places, mosques, and Eid Ghas. These measures will enhance the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the festive locations.
To ensure smooth traffic movement during the Eid Nimaz procession, the Traffic Police authorities were asked to frame a comprehensive traffic management plan, including marking alternate routes and maintaining dedicated routes in the township.
DIO Kishtwar was directed to ensure the installation of a public address system for the festive celebration on the scheduled date at Islamia Faridia Institute and Chowgan.
The deployment of additional medical teams, ambulances, and fire tenders at Eidgah and Chowgan Ground was also discussed.
