Pr Secy Home conducts public outreach cum grievance redressal camp in Udhampur

Udhampur : Principal Secretary, Home, Chandraker Bharti, on Monday spearheaded a public outreach cum grievance redressal camp in Udhampur, to take stock of public issues and demands besides assessing development projects being executed in the district.
The event witnessed presence of DDC Chairman, Udhampur, Lal Chand, DDC Vice Chairman, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai, Senior Superintendent of Police, Joginder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, DDC members, former Legislators, former Councillors and public of the district.
The Principal Secretary inspected the stalls set up by various departments to disseminate information about welfare and government schemes among the common masses. He interacted with the staff and scheme beneficiaries, conducting a comprehensive review of scheme implementation on ground. He also sought feedback from the beneficiaries of various government schemes.
During the event, a plethora of issues and demands was raised including work progress on various roads, weak mobile signal, tourism promotion, traffic congestion, pending liabilities under MGNREGA, road widening, opening of new ration depots, unscheduled power cuts, drinking water scarcity, sewerage and drainage problems, land compensation, shortage of teaching staff, construction of foot over bridges on NH, establishment of solid waste management plant in transport nagar and ware house besides recruitment of constables.
The Principal Secretary, while responding to public issues, assured them that their issues would be redressed on priority basis while issuing on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers to address the same.
Elaborating on the purpose of the outreach program, the Principal Secretary emphasized its role in assessing grassroots issues, thereby improving the public service delivery mechanism. He had an exclusive interaction with the participants during the public darbar to take stock of their issues and concerns. He directed the officers for ensuring timely redressal of all the issues raised by the public during the camp.
The Principal Secretary asked the executing agencies to strictly adhere to all quality parameters while executing the ongoing developmental works besides ensuring their timely completion.
He also emphasized the need to further step up efforts to curb the drug menace in the district while focusing on creating intensive awareness on the ill effects of this social evil. He directed the officers for preparing action plans based on the outcomes of previous outreach progra
