Srinagar: A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight in Samboora area of Pampore in Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Thursday, police said.
An official said that a militant was killed in the firefight that erupted in Samboora Thursday evening. He said two more militants are believed to be trapped inside the cordoned off area.
“An unidentified has so far been killed in the gunfight. The operation continues,” said the official.
He said the gunfight erupted after 50RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the area after inputs about the presence of militants. Meanwhile, Internet services were suspended in Pulwama district.
An official said that 4G/3G/2G services were suspended in the district “as a precautionary measure”
