DEO reviews progress of Spl Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in Sgr

Srinagar: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Wednesday convened a meeting with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of the district to review the progress of ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in the district

The meeting was informed that the Department has received 3578 Form 6 inclusions, 1923 Form 7 deletions, 998 Form 8 corrections and 91 Form 8A transpositions up to October 31, 2017.

It was also given out that the current EPIC ratio in the district stands at 93.4%.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO called for increased efforts in order to improve the achievements made. He instructed the constituencies going slow to show improved results in the next meeting.

The DEO impressed upon the EROs to personally monitor the progress of enrollments in order that all eligible electors are registered in the Electoral Rolls. He also stressed on ensuring proper methodologies are employed to prevent inaccuracies in the collection of data.
