Ganderbal: On the directions from higher authorities, the ARTO Office Ganderbal conducted a special drive on the Sonmarg-Zero Point route to address issues of overcharging and the improper fitment of speed limiting devices in vehicles.
During this comprehensive operation, over 400 vehicles were checked. The drive produced significant findings and actions were initiated.
Driving licenses of 71 drivers who were found to be overcharging passengers have been confiscated and are subject to further action.
Similarly, permits of 53 vehicles with tampered speed limiting devices have been retained for further investigation and necessary action.
Meanwhile, 18 vehicles were found violating traffic rules and have been instantly blacklisted.
