Property of self-styled militant commander attached in Shopian: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has attached the property including land and partial residential house of a militant commander in Shopian.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that under the supervision of SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree in collaboration with revenue authorities attached property of a self-styled militant commander namely Abid Ramzan Sheikh @ Saifullah @ Khalid S/o Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh R/o Chotipora Shopian, Stating therein further that the property includes 1 kanal and 10 marlas of land under survey No. 1165 situated at Chotipora Shopian and a partial residential house.
Police in its statement further said that the said active militant was involved in a number of militant related cases in district Shopian as well as neighbouring districts, adding therein that the said militant commander was highly involved in instigating/ motivating gullible and budding youth to join the ranks of militants. Police in it’s statement furthermore said that this action became inevitable in view of his continuous involvement in militancy and spoiling the career of poor, innocent & gullible youth of the area.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police said that it is committed to take such steps in future also against such anti-national and subversive elements to eradicate the roots of militancy and maintain peace, security and tranquility in the valley.
