DHS Jammu reviews Healthcare services delivery in Ramban

Ramban: Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Rakesh Magotra on Wednesday visited Ramban to conduct a comprehensive review of Health Services and functioning of Health Institutions in the district.
The Director also reviewed the progress on infrastructural Development projects sanctioned and taken up under different Schemes, besides discussing preparedness for ensuing Amarnath Yatra at designated sites.
The Director informed that extra efforts are being made at Government, Directorate and district level to strengthen the health infrastructure and services to facilitate patients with modern technology.
The Director instructed the CMO to prepare a plan to depute adequate doctors and paramedical staff in medical camps at identified locations to facilitate the Yatries during SANJY, 2024 in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamal Je Zadu, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Varinder Trisal and Block Medical Officers of respective blocks of District Ramban.
The Director reviewed the activities of the health department and enjoined upon the staff to work cordially in implementing all schemes of the health sector successfully on the ground, so that better and accessible health care facilities will be provided to the people in all the 122 Government Health Institutions in the district. He also reviewed the staff position of all health instructions and mechanism of monitoring and surveillance of private labs.
The Director was informed that Rs. 419 lakh were expended on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yogna against 6790 clai Moreover under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme a total 919 Dialysis sessions were held in the year 2023-24.
Additionally, under Janani Suraksha Yojana a total 4232 institutional deliveries were held besides 597040 OPD were held in health institutions across the district in the year 2023-24. Further 10024 major and minor surgeries were performed in health institutions.
It was informed that, a total of 100630 children (0 to 18 years) were screened under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram in district Ramban during the year 2023-24.
The meeting was informed that the Drug De addiction centre was made functional from September 2022 at DH Ramban and got converted into Addiction Treatment Facility Centre from February 2024.
The Director took note of status of National Health Programmes/Centrally Sponsored Schemes and directed the concerned to put in more efforts to achieve targets in the stipulated time under respective schemes.
Regarding the increase in institutional deliveries at block level, the Director asked the BMOs to put in their best to utilize the services of ASHAs to motivate the pregnant ladies to go for institutional and safe delivery. Emphasis was also laid on immunization, antenatal check up and wide awareness about family planning methods.
The Director urged upon health functionaries to come up to the expectations of the patients and focus on quality, assured, accessible, affordable health care in the district by providing benefit from the scale of health schemes launched by the J&K government as well as GoI.
Further, he said that punctuality of staff as well as maintaining hygienic conditions in health facilities is indispensable, and lackadaisical approach in this regard will not be tolerated.
The Director directed the BMOs to start a planning section in their office to properly monitor the planning and developmental works for its timely executions.
During his visit to NTPHC Chanderkote, the Director took a round of all sections of the Health institution to assess the public health care delivery system in the Health institution. He checked the records and registers and interacted with the Medical officer, paramedical staff and patients.
Earlier, CMO, MS DH Ramban and BMOs briefed the Director about implementation of various schemes and functioning of health institutions in their respective jurisdictions.
