Bongaon, (WB)|May,14: Claiming that the BJP-led NDA has already secured 270 out of 338 Lok Sabha seats after fourth phase Lok Sabha poll, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the saffron brigade is now looking to cross over 400 seats in the 18th General election to be completed on June 1.

Addressing an electioneering in favour of Union Minister and sitting MP Santanu Thakur in this Matua community bastion in North 24 Parganas, Shah lambasted West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee for blaming the EVMs.

” Mamata Didi you were happy when you took power through EVM voting and during your three terms as the Chief Minister now you are blaming the same electronic machines apprehending imminent defeat, ” Shah said and urged the voters of Bengal to ensure over 30 seats for the BJP out of 42.

‘ Mamata Didi is now complaining about EVMs. I would say, when you became Chief Minister, the EVMs were still the same. Today when it’s your turn to go, you are questioning EVMs, ” Shah said and added the BJP would form the next government in Bengal under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership.

” I tell you here in the open meeting that each and every accused person in the chit fund scam, teachers’ appointment scam, appointment of civic bodies scandal, cattle and coal smuggling scams will not be spared and all will have to go to jails, ” Shah said.

Shah also alleged Mamata Didi was spreading lies about the CAA and said she was opposing to grant citizenship to the Matua community and Dalits to appease her vote bank of infiltrators.

” The CAA is meant to grant Indian citizenship to those Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs, who migrated to India and the legislation is nothing to do to drive out people from this land, “Shah said. ” I tell you that granting of citizenship lies with the Union government and no state has any power to abrogate it, ” Shah said. Shah said Mamata Didi and Rahul Baba were given invitation to attend the Ram Lala consecration on January 22 but the two feared thier vote banks and did not attend the ceremony, which happened after 70 years of struggle. ” Modi ji has given houses, toilets, 5 kilos of rice, medical insurance of 5 lakh rupees to all the poor people of Bengal. Mamata Banerjee says Trinamool Congress is giving rice to poor people. Actually Narendra Modi is sending this rice, ” Shah added.  ” Mamata Didi asking, why are they being sent to jail? I would say, this is just the beginning. Cow thieves, coal thieves, job thieves, and those who asked for money for questioning be prepared to spend in the jails, ” Shah warned.
