Srinagar: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Sunday urged people to vote for INDIA alliance candidates to get them victorious in the Lok Sabha elections in the country and Jammu and Kashmir.

“Defeat the BJP not only in Kashmir but in the whole country and vote in favour of INDIA alliance candidates to get them victorious in these Lok Sabha elections”, Farooq said while addressing a public rally in the Chanapora area of Srinagar on Sunday.

Farooq warned people to awaken to know the intentions of the BJP and their proxy parties in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Do these parties see what is happening here in Kashmir? Shall we have to remain in this country or be vacated?, he questioned.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is saying that Muslims are all “infiltrators” and they have come from outside.

“BJP is directly attacking the Muslims of the country, during his speeches, ” the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said.

He said the Elections Commission was formed which comprises the Prime Minister, Chief Justice, and one opposition leader. “But the BJP changed the law and moved out the Chief Justice and kept the Prime Minister and one member, a right hand of Home Minister Amit Shah. What the lone Congress member could do there”, he asked.

The National Conference President cautioned the people to be vigilant when they go to vote on polling day to check whether the EVM is working properly or not.

“If the BJP again came to power, almighty knows what they will do the next five years with the country and its people”, Farooq added.
