LS Elections 2024: Voter awareness rally under SVEEP organised in Jammu

Jammu: The Government College for Women (GCW), Parade in collaboration with the District Election Office, on Saturday organised voter awareness rally under SVEEP campaign from the College campus here.
The rally was flagged off by District Election Officer (DEO), who is also Returning Officer, 5- Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, Sachin Kumar Vaishey, and SSP Jammu, Vinod Kumar,.
The Faculty members, along with hundreds of students of college participated in the rally, which began from College and culminated at PanjtirthiChowk.
The students of the College raised Electoral Literacy related slogans like “ChabbeekiKutheyJanaaei, Vote Pan Janaaei”, ”Jan Jan ne Thana Hai Vote Deney Jana Hai”, ”GaonGaonGaliGaliChunavkiLaherChali”.
The objective of the awareness rally was to encourage general public to vote in upcomingLokSabha Elections in large numbers, motivate the young voters to participate in the electoral process without any hesitation and ensure maximum voter turnout to help in strengthening the core values of Indian democracy.
Later, the DEO addressed the gathering of students and staff from the departments within the College premises, in which he deliberated on the importance of every single vote.
Popular Punjabi Singer SangramHanjra gave a splendid performance.
Later, the NatrangTheater Group under the leadership of Balwant Thakur performed a play titled LokTantraKaAsli Mantra. The audience were mesmerized by the live performance of the artist. The play was successful in conveying the message of importance of the right to vote.
The volunteers of the Electoral Literacy Club, NSS and NCC unit of the college showed great enthusiasm and shared important information like toll free numbers, My Gov app etc, with the first-time voters and other students of the College.
