Kavinder conducts extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar constituency

Jammu:  Speaker J&K, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta Saturday conducted extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar constituency and launched string of development works at various places.

He visited Bhour Camp, Chatha, Gadi garh, Dharp, Khawas Khan, Sunjwan, Bhatindi and other rural areas of his home constituency

The works included construction of platform & Kriya room at Shamshan Ghat, Chatha Mill, construction of nallah near CRPF camp and upgradation of link road from main road Chatha Pind to Ashram at Chatha, construction of lanes & drains at Bhour Camp , Khawaskhan and Sunjwan and construction of covered drain near graveyard at Bathindi etc.

The Speaker also kick started macadamization work of road near Block Development Office, Block Satwari.

The development works have been initiated by Rural Development Department and funded under CDF.

Terming development of rural areas as the key to the growth of State’s economy, Kavinder stressed on strengthening basic infrastructure and improvement of living condition in all neglected areas.

Reiterating Government’s commitment, Kavinder said it is working for improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people, especially living in rural areas.

“To create sustainable public infrastructure and improve socio-economic development of the people is government’s priority,” he added.

The Speaker said concerted efforts are apace to provide better civic amenities to the people   in rural areas at par with urban areas.

Stressing that the government is creating new assets in rural areas, the Speaker stressed on the people to make proper use and take good care of these assets.

Speaker exhorted upon the concerned officials for effective monitoring of the rural development schemes launched by the centre as well as the state government to improve quality of life of the targeted population.

The Speaker also inspected various ongoing development works during his tour and directed the concerned for timely completion of these work to benefit the locals at the earliest.

On being apprised about the problems and developmental needs of the area, the Speaker assured locals that all their genuine concerns will be looked into on priority. He also directed the concerned officials to take adequate measures to mitigate the problems of the people in a time bound manner.

Senior functionaries of Rural Development Department and other concerned officers accompanied the Speaker.
