Officers asked to ensure readiness, work diligently & with dedication
Bandipora: The District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review preparedness for General Election to Lok Sabha-2024 in the district.
The meeting discussed various aspects of the election preparedness including security situation, critical polling stations, MCC guidelines, responsibilities and preparedness of AROs, transport arrangements, SVEEP activities, Expenditure Monitoring, Welfare Measures, pink polling stations, functioning of control rooms, MCMC and communication plan etc.
The meeting also discussed preparations to ensure accuracy and inclusivity, verifying the setup and accessibility of polling stations, and assessing the training of election staff to handle diverse scenarios effectively.
Nodal Officer MCC, on the occasion, informed the chair that the complaints received by the MCC team are disposed-off within 24 hours, and proper procedures are adopted to provide permission for election related activities.
The DEO on the occasion emphasized maintaining effective communication throughout the electoral process.
Highlighting measures such as comprehensive reviews, training sessions, logistical preparations, and coordination efforts, the DEO stressed on ensuring readiness for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
He emphasized Election Nodal Officers to work diligently and with dedication for successful execution of election related assignments.
Reviewing the status of SVEEP activities, the DEO urged the SVEEP team to adopt innovative strategies to ensure higher participation and enhance voter awareness.
The DEO, on the occasion, directed the concerned to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in all the polling stations for Voter Convenience and Accessibility.
The arrangements for home voting and pink polling stations were also discussed in the meeting.

LS Elections 2024: One-day training Prog for micro observers held at Kulgam
Kulgam: The District Election Office Kulgam on Monday conducted a day-long training programme for micro observers at Conference Hall Mini-Secretariat, here.
The training session was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Viqar Ahmed Giri.
The training was imparted by District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs), Showkat Ahmad Wani and Muzafar Hameed.
The Dy-DEO, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar also interacted with the officers to be engaged as micro observers and advised them to go through the rules and regulations governing their engagement as micro-observers so that they can perform their duties in a hassle free manner.
Master Trainers presented a detailed presentation regarding role, responsibility and functions of micro-observers during the day-long training.
LS Elections 2024: Relief Comr (M) organises training of BLOs, interaction with political parties
Jammu: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr Arvind Karwani conducted a training session for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner’s office. The training focused on the voting scheme for Kashmiri migrants.
BLOs received instructions on their duties at the special polling stations and how to handle claims related to the draft Electoral Roll Extracts. The office has completed draft mapping and prepared draft Electoral Roll Extracts, which are available at zonal offices, the Relief Commissioner’s office, and online at www.jkmigrantrelief.nic.in.
Additionally, BLOs were informed that electors listed in the draft, as well as those not listed, can submit claims or objections to the ARO Migrant Jammu or Zonal Officers within seven days of this notice’s publication. Claims can be made for missing names, opting for postal ballots, voting at original stations in the Kashmir Valley, or retaining a chosen Special Polling Station as indicated in Form-M.
Furthermore, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr. Karwani, held a meeting with political party representatives to discuss the Relief Organization’s efforts in processing electoral roll claims. Zonal Officers and BLOs have been instructed to assist voters consistently. Dr. Riaz, ARO Migrants, provided a comprehensive overview of the migrant voting process and responded to queries from attendees.

LS Elections 2024: Distt Admin Ramban organises mega SVEEP event at Sanasar
Ramban: A mega Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) event was on Monday organised by District Administration Ramban at scenic Sanasar meadow, adjoining the blooming Tulip Garden with shining Lake in the background.
A colourful and mesmerizing programme was orchestrated by District Election Officer, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary.
ADDC, CEO PDA, ACD, ACP (District Nodal Officer SVEEP), DIO DIPR, DSWO, other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion besides a mammoth gathering of enthusiastic locals, especially youth, women, PwDs, children and tourists were also present.

LS Elections 2024: Distt SVEEP cell holds pledge-cum-awareness Prog at GDC Rajouri
Rajouri: District SVEEP cell Rajouri on Monday organised a pledge-cum-awareness programme for eligible voters at Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri under the theme ‘Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv’.
As many as 500 college students participated with great enthusiasm as they took the pledge to be a part of election process.
Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad delivered an impressive talk regarding the importance of vote in democratic setup.
The pledge was read out by Prof Khalid Reyaz.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Dr. Raiz Ahmed, Coordinator and District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Raina.
LS Elections 2024: General, Police Observer for 5-Jammu PC review preparedness in Reasi
Reasi: General Observer for 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency (PC), Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal and Police Observer, Dr. Gajarao Bhupal on Monday conducted comprehensive review of election preparedness for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by District Election Officer Reasi Vishesh Mahajan, Senior Superintendent Police Reasi Mohita Sharma, Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), Nodal Officers and other officials.
Discussions encompassed a range of vital aspects like enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, expenditure monitoring, security plans, transport and communication plans, intensification of the SVEEP campaign and the functioning of VST and flying squads.
The Observers emphasized on maintaining close coordination among all stakeholders to assess and enhance election preparedness across the district.
Emphasizing on enhancement of voter turnout, the Observer asked the officers to intensify Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities throughout the district to sensitize the voters.
The Second round of randomization process of polling staff designated for deployment across 425 polling stations was also conducted in presence of the Observers.
Later, the Observers inspected the Election strong room at Government Polytechnic College Reasi, besides the Control Room and other arrangements.
LS Elections 2024: SVEEP prog held at tribal village Talore of Samba Distt
Samba: To boost electoral participation, SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) awareness programme was on Monday orchestrated at village Talore of district Samba here targeting tribal population.
District Election Officer Samba, Abhishek Sharma urged the Tribal voters in Talore and adjoining areas to actively participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, underscoring their role in shaping the nation’s future.

LS Elections 2024: ‘Yoga Shivar’ under SVEEP campaign hosted in Udhampur
Udhampur: The District Administration Udhampur, in collaboration with the Department of Ayush and Department of Youth Services and Sports hosted ‘Yoga Shivar’ under SVEEP campaign at Subash Stadium here on Monday.
District Election Officer (DEO), Saloni Rai; District Panchayat Officer (Nodal Officer SVEEP) and other officers, along with prominent citizens, actively participated in the Yoga Shivar programme.
While briefing the media, DEO highlighted that the main aim of the event was to enhance awareness and active public involvement in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. She emphasized the importance of understanding the true value of vote to promote greater engagement in the electoral process.

Doda: Chief Education Officer (CEO), Doda, Parkash Lal Thapa, who is also the Nodal Officer for Assured Minimum Facility (AMF) on Monday inspected various polling stations established in schools of educational zone Doda.
