Chairman DLSA Samba chairs first quarterly UTRC meet

Samba : District Legal Services Authority Samba, as per the schedule for year 2024 issued by the National Legal Services Authority recently on Monday conducted the first Quarterly Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) meeting here.
The main objective of establishing a set quarterly meeting schedule by NALSA, issued on April 8,2024, is to enhance the efficacy and impact of the UTRC meetings.
The meeting was chaired by Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA, Samba, Adnan Sayeed.
The meeting was attended by Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Samba, Additional DC Samba on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba besides other members of UTRC.
The Superintendents of District Jail Kathua, District Jail Jammu and Central Jail, Kotbhalwal Jammu also joined the meeting through virtual mode.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed cases of eligible UTPs/Prisoners shortlisted by the Secretary, DLSA Samba for consideration. The Committee considered 13 cases of UTPs/Prisoners, out of which two cases were recommended for release.
