New Delhi:  BJP on Sunday promised that it will implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the country after forming government at the Centre on winning the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Releasing the party’s manifesto for the elections at itd headquarters here, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the ‘Sankalp Patra’ will empower the four strong pillars of developed India: youth, women, the poor, and farmers.

“The entire country eagerly waits for the BJP’s Sankalp Patra. There is a big reason for this: in the last ten years, the BJP has fulfilled each and every promise it made,” PM Modi added.

Speaking about holding simultaneous elections in future, PM Modi said, “We will move forward with a resolve to realise the idea of One Nation, One Election. BJP also considers the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) equally necessary in the interest of the country,” he said.

Modi said, work on implementing the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ will begin immediately after the June 4 results. The government has already started working on the 100-day action plan.

He said it focuses on the “dignity of life” and the “quality of life,” the quantity of opportunity as well as the quality of opportunity.

The government will focus on taking piped gas to all homes and providing free electricity through solar power, the Prime Minister said.

Talking about the other development works undertaken by the central government, the Prime Minister said in the last ten years, around 10 crore women have been associated with the Self-Help Groups. “We have decided to train these Self-Help Groups in the fields of IT, education, health, retail, and tourism.”

He added that till date, around 1 crore women have become Lakhpati Didis. “Now, Modi guarantees

that 3 crore women will become Lakhpati Didis.”

The Prime Minister said the BJP never shies away from taking big and tough decisions in the interest of the country.

“For us, the country is bigger than the party. The Nari Shakti Vandan Act has now become a law.

The BJP removed Article 370, and we brought CAA.

Following the mantra, Reform, Perform, Transform, we will move ahead even faster,” he said.

According to the manifesto, the Centre’s free ration scheme will be extended by 5 years, and it will focus on self-reliance in the production of pulses, edible oils, and vegetables to stabilise prices and protect the poor’s plates.

The Ayushman Bharat scheme and the PM Awas Yojana will be expanded, and drinking water supplies will be taken to every home, it said.

For the farmers, the BJP manifesto said it will continue to provide annual assistance of Rs 6,000 and will strengthen the crop insurance scheme through the use of technology.

The document said the government will continue periodic hikes in the minimum Price for crops, set up new clusters for the production of essentials, and build more storage facilities.
