Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday busted sensational mobile/sim module in central jail Amphala in Jammu with the arrest of three accused.
A police spokesman here on Friday said that on 2nd April Cosco ball was found in the premises of Amphala Jail Jammu during routine searches on opening of this, one mobile (Chinese) along with Sim and charging lead wrapped in the Cosco ball were found. “On receipt of this information, a case FIR NO. 36/2024 U/S 42 Prison Act was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and Investigation of the case was entrusted to I/C Police Post Rehari and investigation was started,” he said.
The spokesman said that sensing the gravity of the situation and incident in sensitive location, a special team, constituted upon the direction of SP City North, Jammu Shivam Siddharth headed by SDPO City North, Jammu Devinder Singh Bandral, led by SHO Pacca Danga inspector Rakesh Singh activated human intelligence system and collected all technical data. “Thereafter on 03.03.2024 arrested One person namely Mohammad Akheel Wani R/O Belicharana who further disclosed that he has provided the Sim to the one Harsh Singh S/O Ramesh Singh R/O Vikram Chowk Jammu,” he said.
The police spokesman said that Police team also arrested Harsh Singh who disclosed during questioning that he along with one Vikas Singh @ Raja S/O Jaswant Singh R/O Bhagalpur Gho Manasa in league with each other made a plan at park near Vikram Chowk Ware House with criminal conspiracy and wrapped one Chinese mobile phone along with sim and a charging lead in the Cosco Ball. “Subsequently they both went to Amphala on 02.04.2024 in a Motor Cycle Splender bearing M/Cycle registration no. JK02CT-1088 and threw the Cosco Ball inside the premises of Jail from the boundary wall of the Amphala jail in order to Aid state prisoner,” he said.
The spokesman said that on Friday the main accused namely Vikas Singh S/O Jaswant Singh R/O Bhagatpur arrested and the M/Cycle used in the commission of the offence has also been seized. “Further investigation of the case is going on to unearth such Gang. This whole investigation is done under SDPO City North Devinder Singh Bandral and overall supervision of SP City North Shivam Siddharth” he added.
