Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned the grandson of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin for questioning at their New Delhi headquarter.
Muzammil Khan, only son of Salahuddin’s daughter, has done his B.Tech from Pakistan. He puts up at Daharmuna village, two kilometers from Salahuddin’s ancestral home in Soibugh area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Source said that the NIA notice was issued to Khan on Friday.
The notice was issued just days after Salahuddin’s son Shahid Yusuf was arrested in an alleged funding case. He has been remanded to seven-day NIA custody by a court in New Delhi.
According to the agency, 42-year-old Shahid, who works in the agricultural department of the Jammu and Kashmir government, was summoned to the agency’s headquarters where he was arrested after questioning.
The NIA alleged that Shahid used to receive funds through a US-based international wire transfer company from Aijaz Ahmed Bhat, another accused in the case who is absconding and is reported to be based in Saudi Arabia.
