4 absconders arrested in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four absconders in Awantipora who were evading their arrest from last 35 years.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a warrant under section 512 CrPC issued by Court of JMIC Tral pending with Police Station Tral against four accused namely Wahid Bakerwal S/o Shera Bakerwal, Ab Rashid Bakerwal S/o Shera Bakerwal, Ab Aziz Bakerwal S/o Shera Bakerwal, all residents of Hari Chema Kala Koot Rajouri and Maam Jan BakerwalS/o Misri Bakerwal R/o Wansoo Rajouri.
Stating all the arrested accused were involved in case FIR No. 111/1989 of Police Station Tral and were evading their arrest from last 35 years, Polive in its statement further said that the arrests were made by a Special Police team under the supervision of SDPO Tral. Subsequently, adding therein that the arrested accused were produced before the Court of Law.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to keep society free of crime and also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
