Absconder evading his arrest for the last 21 years in arrested in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested an absconder in Awantipora who was evading arrest for a long time.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the warrant under section 512 CrPC issued by Court of Principal Session Judge Pulwama pending with Police Station Awantipora against one Reyaz Ahmad Alaie S/o Abdul Rehman R/o Awantipora A/P Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar was executed and the person who was evading his arrest from last 21 years involved in case FIR NO. 19/2003 of Police Station Awantipora was arrested by a special Police team under the supervision of Mumtaz Ali Bhatti (SP) SDPO Awantipora, adding therein that the arrested accused was produced before the Court of Law.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reassured people about its commitment to keep society free of crime and also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
