National Painters’ Camp opens at Mansar

Jammu: A National Painters’ Camp organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was on Wednesday opened at JKTDC Complex, Mansar Lake (Dist. Samba, J&K. The camp has been dedicated to Prof. (Late) T S Batra, veteran artist; Former Principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts
(IMFA), Jammu. The camp is an event being organized as the opening of a Year Long Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu.
Well known artists viz. Prof. Sunil Saxena, Lucknow; Dr. A K Dixit, New Delhi; K S Gill and Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar; Jang S. Verman, O P Sharma, Ahok Mehta, Anil Saraf, Shakti Kumari and Mehak Sharma, Jammu are participating in this camp being held between 2 nd and 4 th April, 2024. The camp has been curafed by Director, JKCCA & renowned artist O P Sharma.
According to O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, the J& K Centre for Creative Arts is working for the progress, promotion and preservation of different art forms like visual, literary and performing art forms. The Centre is entering the 25 th year of its inception during 1999. Thus JKCCA has resolved to celebrate this year as a Silver Jubilee Year. The centre would conduct art, culture and literature based
events of the JKCCA every month throughout the upcoming entire year. He added that these events would help in remembering and celebrating the contribution of the achievers of this region in the field of art, culture and literature.
It may be recalled that Prof. (Late) T S Batra had participated in state, national and international level art exhibitions and art camps at different places in the country. He had been the Former Principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu, & a Member of Central Committee of J&K Academy of
Art, Culture and Languages.
